Has anyone done this conversion on a 1974ish 2wd F100 that can speak to some of the finer points?
Specifically, Will the big calipers off a T-bird work with the 2wd f100 axles/spindles and if an F350 booster/master cyl. will bolt up OK using an inline 6 engine?
I believe that the Caliper/ brake pads are the same on those big T-Birds and Mark V's. I know that the Mark V's are the same. Even the steering box is the same as a 1/2 ton truck.
I don't know why a F-350 would have a different master cyl. than a F-100/ F-150
If you are refering to the t-bird calipers being bolted on the f-100 or f-150 single piston type front brakes... They will bolt on. The t-bird caliper is only "bigger" in respect to bore size. It does make a noticable improvement in brake pedal feel and power. The only other difference in the two caliper castings is the style of brake hoses. The truck uses a banjo bolt and block type, the t-bird uses the thread in hose type. The threads are the same diameter and pitch though . Also, isn't the f-350 a small diameter dual diaphram setup vs. the single diaphram booster on the f-100 to f-250's ?
So, can you just replace the old truck brake hoses with some new T-Bird models to match the new T-bird calipers? Or are the T-bird hoses not long enough?
I've hears bits and pieces on this brake swap, are you trying to convert to disc brakes from drums??
I'd never heard that the BIG TBird stuff would fit, are we talking about pre-77 parts from the REALLY BIG TBirds??
And I do understand that the F350 booster and master cylinder will bolt on and work on a F100-150, and provide more boost to the weak brakes found on these F100-150s, but you'll have to tweak your lines coming off of the m/c to the oposite side, as far as the TBird rubber lines working on the Fseries trucks I'm not real sure of this.

I am going to try to upgrade from MANUAL disc brakes to the Power brakes utilizing Danny's conversion ideas.
He suggested using the BIG T-bird (land yacht) calipers which are meant to use a different kind of brake hose, the screw-in style, compared to the banjo-style on the truck right now. It would be much easier to just use new T-bird hoses than to modify the calipers to accomodate the banjo bolt style. The question is, if the T-bird hoses are long enough for a truck application... :-X12
If all you're trying to do is add a power booster to your exisiing disc brake equipped truck, I'd just get a booster setup including the pedal, and firewall brackets from a F250, or F350, I really don't think you'll notice much difference in doing all the swapping with the BIG TBird calipers, and trying to make hoses work, just freshen up what you've got up there already, replace the rubber lines, buy a set of quality name brand pads like Wagner, or Raybestos, ect, and you'll be fine.
