any leaks or seeps around pinion shaft seal on front?
been driving through deep water in past several months, more than 6 inches.
since it is easy quick service, I would pull cover, drain and check condition of oil, any foaming or water mix. check for metal cuttings in bottom of drain pan, on fill plug magnet and in bottom of housing.
check ring and pinion teeth for smooth even wear pattern. have someone rotate tire while listening to and observing ring and pinion for any unusual noise or movement.
