The first one by the grill area is '51/'52 and has to be F2-F4 with the 8' box.
Second one is '48-'50 F1 and is from the Owner's Manual
Panel is also '48-'50 by grill id
Frame pix is right out of the Shop Manual p. 196
Picture 1 - This one puzzles me the most. It appears to have the 51/52 grill but the bed appears to be 48-early 50 because of the formed/raised panels on the side of the bed. I know these raised sections disappeared midstream 1950 on the F1's. Not sure if the disappeared on the F2-F4's. It's definitely an F2-F4.
Second one - I agree. This is a 48- early 50 F1. Has the formed raised panels on the sides of the bed.
The first drawing is almost certainly an F3. 700 17 tires tell me it's an F3. I believe 16 was standard on the F2. The grille on the first schematic is later than 1950, or at least different from mine. Unfortunately I'm currently separated from my shop manual.
Thanks for confirming that for me. It's these little details that come in handy when you are looking at these trucks and looking for parts. I guess they also come in handy when you are trying to help identify 50 year old plus engineering sketches for your forum moderator, right George.
There are several additional resources you should consider if you have a truck in parts. First would be the shop manual, if you don't already have one. MotorHaven.com, our FTE host has them for most years. Second, if you really want to understand what goes where, a Parts and Accessories Catalog set for your year would really help. It has exploded views of virtually all the assemblies on the truck plus part numbers, etc. MotorHaven.com has a few, and some of the other sponsors at the top of the screen also have them. If you can't find one for your year, you can always try eBay. Good luck with your project.
