Question Throttle Linkage Length

I'm the not-so-proud owner of the throttle linkage rod shown below. It's supposed to go on a 1956 272 Y-block with the standard Holley 2110 (model 94) carb. Can somebody take a quick measurement of the total length of the rod on a stock setup so I can fix this unit? I'd really appreciate it. The other question is whether it's supposed to be just a straight rod or if it has an offset (bend or bends)?

Don't you just hate when people do stuff like that? My clutch lever to turning shaft was welded the same way!

George... you know I'm not stock, not a 56 and not a 250. But to see what the ballpark is, I humbly offer this pic. Note that in '54 they used the lowtech bent wire linkage. The measurement is from the center hole in the arm at the firewall to the center of the intake manifold. I know that the carb is not a 2110 but the center of the manifold should give you a rough idea of where the end of your linkage would go. The measurement is 7.5". Best. Himmelberg

Peter, you're a real trouper! The photo was above and beyond the call of duty and exactly what I needed! My deepest thank you for your effort.

BTW, I've been addressing you as Peter for some time now because ... well, I feel like I know you on a first name basis and that's the first name listed in your gallery. I'd like to use the form you prefer though. Is it Peter, or Pete, or something else? Please, no long-married couple pet names like sugarbuns or sweetums.

Glad to help, George... you always have answers and details for others... it bothered me that there were no quick replies to your quest. Namewise, I answer to both... and there seems to be an equal number of adherents to each form of the name. One is the serious artist/educator... the other just a regular guy. I am both and have no preference and am honored that you address me as you do. Best. Honeylumps
