EM, No problem Bro!! I sent you an email this morning with some good info in it, and a good connection on some top of the line axle's that I think? will work better for your application than the Moser's..
Ill have to give that guy a call i liked his site. You know if this were a 9" id be replacing a set of races right now and not axles....
Well I guess that would all depend on the axle's ya started with...I think you'll be real happy with Those....I know alot of guys that are going to him and changing out there strange and Moser's....
oh im sure im just sayin that if it were a nine inch the bearings ride on the races...whichc i think would make them wear before the axles would...know what i mean?
Any of you guys have any experience with a true track locker? Im having trouble getting my axles in, there is a spacer thats kinda like the pin that goes through the carrier and it wont go in between the two axles....very frustrating. Its like the difference in a fingernail lol all i need is like .010 or .020 and it would slide right in.
Maybe one of the other guys can help youEM...I had my soft Locker set-up by a drive train shop.. I know of the pin your talking about...I would think it would have keepers for it..and be a press fit?
Well I figured it out...Its not like the pin in a standard 8.8"... It was the same size as the axles and it pushed them both back outward. So I got an extra set of hands to hold it center and i got a hammer an a rod and pounded it in! then there is another thing on top that holds it and a BIG C-clip its in now im just wrestling with the drum breaks Ill let ya know how it does when i get the breaks back togeather tonight.
Well i got it up and it drives nice...It gets with im turns the 33's with no effort from a tired 351W. Thanks russ!
Yourmorethan Welcome EM, Did you Talk to Mark? did you order his axles? Just curious...I bet it is nice and smooth in the back end now..with No groulling...yeah those old axle's were shot..for off roas purpose's...
Sounds like your getting plenty of steam to the 8.8" now to be able to spin those tires!! Thats Great...
Good Job EM, Next time i'am out in Redondo Beach to see my Mom,,you owe me a ride!!!! LOL..
