hi all. i am in the process of painting my frame and have a couple of questions.
i bought a set of poly daystar body mounts.
when they arrived there were no instructions.
this is the first time that i tried to do body mounts on anything.
my question is , do i need the same hardware as with rubber mounts ?
or do i just use big washers and bolts.
and my second question is , how in the heck do i get the old mounts off if i have to save the hardware?
thanks for any and all help

you most likely wont get the old hardware off. the two sleeves are pressed into each other when the bolt is tightened down and they lock together.
If everything is perfect, the phase of the moon is right, the trucks never seen bumpy roads, youv'e paid your taxes and God smiles on you, you MIGHT be able to use a slide hammer to yank the lower sleave out without damaging it.
ussually you need to cut the lower part off with a angle grinder. Make 6 small cuts through the lower washer as close as you can to the flats on the lower nut. the large washer will come off and you can pull the mount up off the frame.
you will have to buy a rubber cab mount set to get the hardware.

thats what i was afraid of. it is going to cost around $300 canadian for them. i would be farther ahead to take back the polly mounts or talk to a machine shop.
thanks for the help
