Anyone getting lots of junk mail? I was getting quite abit but seems like it is tapering off for now.

 

Junk mail doesn't bother me as much as any type of telephone solicitation(sp?) or those f***ing surveys. With agriculture --> your info seems to be shared with so many that I must get about 5-10 calls/week. There is no possible way that I could be any ruder, meaner, more pigish than I am to these people. I have gone through every possible avenue to remove myself from lists short of an unlisted number.

 

Nothing seems to work. This is worse than junk e-mail and as bad as junk mail. I need to put a burning barrel next to the mail box!

 

Yelling at them won't do anything. These people are just trying to make a living. How would you like to he yelled at while at work? You should be mad at the manager! I'd wonder what they would say if you'd like to speak with their boss.

 

I guess you are entitled to your opinion, but it is MY phone, I pay for it, and I make the rules! If someone tries to use it in ways I don't like, I tell them where to go. If these people don't like to be yelled at, get a different job. I feel the use of the telephone for this stuff is an invasion of privacy and anyone making a living doing it can kiss my A$$ !

 

Just ask for there home number, so you can call them back on there day OFF! or Tell them that there is a death in the family and the house is full of mourners.Usually gets rid of them.

 

Exactly my thoughts. Usually I am under a vehicle working on it and the phone rings for a survey or a sales pitch that I have no interest in. Burns my butt big time. There was an ad for a device that would screen out these calls. I wish that I had got one as I haven`t seen it since.

 

Stats Canada is one of the most persistent group. I get called monthly for a crop survey. I have exhausted every avenue to rid myself of this vermin, but to no avail. They say its random, but if they get no reply --> next month you are in the mix again. I have seen them try 20 - 30 times to reach a person. Years back I was even told by one of the phone scum that I was required by law to provide them with information (Stats Can, that is) and I asked them to prove that to me and they didn't. I told them that Census is law, but they are not! A good one is a few years back when someone had contracted some work to gather info for some group and they used their home number. I took great pleasure in waking them up in the middle of the night several nights in a row. Just because they sleep during the night doesn't mean that a shift worker does (he he he!).

If anyone is reading this and they feel like --> holy crap, this guy is deranged --> I am one of the most laid back people there is and this is one of the few things that sets me off (just a hint, I have already talked to my lawyer about the abuse I ditch out over the phone - yes its abuse alright - and have documented all the calls I have received for the last five or so years to prove the grief bestowed upon me and there is nothing that will happen to me once its shown how I have been harassed!!!).
