I have a 79 F150 I need some help to find out the specs on. On the driver side is a sticker shows made 03/79 VIN # F15JLEG9709 front axle axle rated 3300 lbs. Rear axle rated 3580. A 429 four barrel carb amd c6 in it now. It has front sway bar on it. I/ve never noticed this on this model truck before. It has super cool radiator PS PB A/C tilt dual fuel tanks. Can anyone help with if this is a heavy duty suspension w/sway bar. Code in lower left is FC271. Below this is TO507. I think this originally came with a 460.
Thanks

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Jan-03 AT 04:03 PM (EST)]there is a vin decoder to the right. click on tech articles. then go down the page. it says something like vin # decoder for 70-80 ford trucks. lots of trucks have front sway bars on them i went ahead and looked it up with just the vin. and it did come with a 460 4bbl. there a spaces for axle codes too.
Thanks for the help. I have my dad's 73 F250 that is heavy duty all the way. It has dual caliper front brakes and larger brakes on the rear than most 250 have. Found out hard way doing back brakes. I for the 79 to swap front end to a 66 for the PS and P Disc Brakes and I figure I'll replace bushings, king pins and re do the brakes and swap springs and sway bar over. The 73 has heavy duty suspension and has a rear sway bar.
Apparently the 78 and 79 models f150 with 460 eng had sway bars as part of heavy duty suspension.
