I am about to pick up a 78 f250, but I am having some issues with decoding some of the info on the plate. VIN F265CAG7521, Axle B42. The decoder on Mil1ons website shows the front axle as a 78-79 w/sway bar, and the engine code C is not recognized. The fron looks like a D60, but the spring pad mount is right in front of where the type stamp is. Anyone have any ideas on how to figure out the axle or engine type? Thanks, Heath

These trucks are getting old enuf that the rating plate info is sometimmes meaningless due to changes. For axle type ID info check out the trans diff and axle forum, or search here.
