Wish I knew what to tell you. I don't really know much about AC stuff. I was just glad to figure out that the coil needed cleaning. The only problem I use to have was the fresh air/ recycle door. It would not close to recycle air from the inside so I just wire tied it so it would recycle instead of fresh air. I do not smoke so no sense in trying to cool 100 plus degree air down here in Lousiana. Good luck and let me know how the cleaning works out for you.
If your getting a vacuum pull in the line hook it up to the vacuum motor it should operate if disconnected from doors, then hook it up and see if it operates the door(s). There are many vacuum connections on the back of the heater controlls too, check them for damage/leaks. There are three vacuum motors.
Might want to do a vacuum test too.......... email me if you want it.
As far as the heater core many guy's I know have put in shutoff valves on the heater lines, no sense cooling heated air, the blend doors do not quite close sometimes.
Well I found some of the problems and found more head aches. There was a hole in a line going to the door that opens in the dash and takes air from the inside, so I cut it ansd went to an auto parts store to get something to splis it with and they don't have any hose that small or anything to attach it together. The selector under ythe dash isn't working either. So that makes me think I've got vacum problems. I don't know if it is connected or not but I believe my brake booster went out also. Could it be all of this has to do with possibly the vacum booster (on the right side under the alternator) being out, since they use that since they dont' create enough vacum(from what I've been told) Is there any way for a backyard mech. without alot of expensive tools to check these things out
