This last weekend I saw some clamp on type brackets that allowed the stock mirrors to be extended on a second arm. I talked with the owner and he said he got then through Ford. My local stealership says they have never heard of this before but they could sell me some different mirrors for towing.
The setup looked like the stock mirror is removed from the arm, then a adjustable bracket is clamped to the top of the arm and a second arm that can be slid in or out is clamped in the top of the bracket and the mirror is installed on the end of the new arm. I did see the Ford logo on the brackets but no part numbers.
Can anyone identify this setup and where I could purchase it?
Thanks for the reply. Just today I found some extenders like I described at Kragen. This was very old stock, the clear plastic package was yellow and cracked. They gave me a good deal on it and were happy to finally get rid of it.
no prob....this is my first Ford towrig, they came with it, and I didn't know whether they are stock, Ford/dealer option, or what. But they are a neat deal and no vibration at all. Glad you located a set.
Used these extenders on my 87 Bronco II for towing. Bought them at an RV dealership. I'd expect they are hard to find now because the mirror style has changed dramtically on the new vehicles.
