I was wondering about the passenger side door mirror bracket that is on my 1960. Were all trucks made with brackets and just the ones who ordered a right side mirror had it put in or did my truck have a second mirror and one of the owners took it off. I think my second idea is correct because my truck is a custom cab V8 with an auto those are all high end options so chances are he ordered a mirror too. Any info about the mirror would be extremly helpfull! P.S The drivers side mirror is connected with an arm about 7-8 inches with the mirror being a rectangle.
Hi,
Exterior right and left side mirrors were optional equipment, even on the custom cabs. Trucks that came from the factory without a mirror would not have a bracket. They would have a rubber plug in the slotted hole in the door instead. If your truck has the bracket, it had a mirror when it came from the factory.
There were two types of exterior mirrors. The telescoping type (which you have), and the fixed type which resemble a car mirror.
