Location of a V-10 in Texas

Two questions really. Is the 05 the first year for the 3v, V-10? And, where in Texas can you find a V-10 to look at or buy? Everytime I try a Ford house, they have plenty of diesels but no V-10s. They tell me they just can't sell them. I told the last guy that I guess "here's one you could have sold."

When I was looking a few weeks ago, I had the dealer search for a XLT CC, LB, 4x4 w/V10. There was only 1 in the KS, OK, TX, AR area- and it was in KS. Just aren't many V10s around these parts. Don't know if they really can't sell them or if there just aren't many to sell. Ford only puts the V10 in about 14% of all Super Duty trucks.

I know you asked for TX, but if you're looking for a V10 on the lot, it's hard to beat the selection of Woodhouse Ford in Blair Nebraska. They say they're the biggest SuperDuty dealer in the nation, and judging by their stock a couple of months ago (about 400 SDs) when I was looking, I wouldn't dispute it. I was all set to drive out there from Denver to pick up the rare on-the-lot find I was looking for (see sig) but ended up getting lucky and finding it in town. Use zip code 68008 on the Ford website to see their selection.

For everyone who's had a hard time getting a V10, send an email to ford

Maybe they'll get the idea.

Of course, with gas prices going up and SUV sales going down, they see V10's as a money pit, so PLEASE let them know this isn't so !!!

tbax, When I was looking for one they were very scarce in the North Texas area. Like DUKFVR said, there are always some down around San Antonio, a few in the Houston area too. Checked with my dad today at his dealer, the V10 trucks fly out fast, but he has 20(!) plain work vans with V10s. BTW I gave up thrying to find one with all the things, plus the color I wanted and ordered it. Last time I checked, Crenwelge Ford in Frederickburg had a V10 250 XLT SWB CC and Stoeple Ford in Kerrville had a V10 250 Lariat SWB CC 6sp. Do a search on the Ford web site to double check. And if you can find an 05, now you get the A plan price PLUS rebates! Great deal but what will it do for our resale down the road?

Resale? Resale? WTH, who cares about resale? Well I guess when the 07s flop because Ford is banking on the 6.4L and they are always two steps behind the public...oh screw it another rant for another day...

How Ford lucked out with the 05 V10 5R110 I believe is an accident and they are not even aware how good this truck is. I am serious they have no damned idea how good a truck this is. My dealer refuses to believe I get more than 10mpg empty. THEY make a LOT of money on each PSD sale. (around here they do not talk invoice on trucks every thing works on the "No Dicker Sticker" plan).

For now the 3v V10 05/06 crowd gets to wait until 2012 for the new VVT VVP 4v V12, supercharged, high pressure hydraulic energy absorbing assisted take off HyperDuty F350 with QuintaCab! How about a 8400lb truck with 400HP 580 FTlbs nominal cruise but 860HP 1200Ftlbs during first 6 seconds of acceleration?

OK every thing else is just my silly imagination but the hydraulic energy absorber take off assist is already tested by the Army Tank Automotive Command. Rear brakes are two way hydraulic motors. During braking the energy is "absorbed" by the hydro motor pumping up a high pressure reservoir. On take off the pressure is released back to the rear wheels through the same motor "assisting" the standard differential drive axle configuration. I Can't wait to get my hands on one of these systems!!!... Drag racing a 8,000lb rig is going to get real interesting!

Every dealer on the planet can order the V10... come drive mine, ask JKBrad for a ride..
there are about 5 other Texas V10 in here.. but if you expect to find them at the dealer ...well you already know they ain't there. Why?? Think about it.

You have 5 plain jane 5.4L XL or Lariat and 15 XLT, and Lariat PSDs.. odds are good the macho man looking for a big truck can be conned into the $3800 option PSD motor because it is big enought to tow a load, it is a diesel so it is maintenance free and will work hard be put away wet and last for freaking ever...Poof instant sucker! I am in Fort Hood surrounded by several large and a bunch of small Ford dealers... NOT ONE of them ever ordered a V10 for the lot...EVER!

Just checked back with my old dad after responding to this thread, his dealer has two f350 V10 auto 4x4 XLT CC LWB in stock, 1 is dark stone and the other is white. A plan price ought to be 34-35K with an additional 2K rebate. PM me if u want more info since his dealer is not a sponsor.
Man Fred, some guy is gonna read this and think you're serious! Gotta stir that pot! (insert goofy laugh icon here)
