My 2005 F350 PSD makes a faint tapping noise--similar to the clicking noise of a valve lifter--at idle and when driving at a cruising speed. The noise seems to be on the driver's side, and is noticable at idle and when engine is leveled off at a cruising speed...it can't be heard when accellerating. Is this just one of the noises that comes with the 6.0 PSD? Thanks.
I picked up my PSD on April 30th and am still getting used to all the different Diesel noises. It's a definite learning experience. I own a '47 Cat D4 and it doesn't make as many different noises as the Power Stroke.
I hear ticking and clacking noises at different speed and RPM. It goes silent when I let off the throttle but sometimes it lets out a 'chuffing' noise from the air box when I let off. It rattles more when it's cold.
