does anyone know causes a clicking noise during acceleration? acceleration is the only time it makes the noise, its quite during idle and when i get up cruising speed. any sugestions? thanks.
Sounds like an exhaust leak to me. Probably the doughnut gasket or else the manifold gasket. Acceleration is when you hear these problems the most. Sometimes that is the only time a small leak is noticeablemat all.
If it's got a dark area around there, that might be it. If it's just a clean crack, then it's probably just on the surface. A manifold to head gasket is more likely for a ticking noise. Look around for a black streak, that's where the leak is.
teah....be sure to learn the difference between "exhaust leak noise" and "valve tapping noise"....check yer oil to make sure the valves are getting what they need.
