Looking to do my front brakes but unsure as to what monobeam is. When I look under the front I see a Round Bar/Beam going to both tires...Is that the Monobeam??? 2000 F350 SUPERDUTY CC DUALLY TRUCK. Thanks In advance, Feel kinda stupid. Any Recommendations on which rotors to replace with?
is your truck 4 wheel drive? if it is then yes you have monobeam. straight axle is the common mans term for it. your front axle will look nearly the same as your rear axle. if you are 2 wheel drive then you don't have monobeam you will a have an independ front suspension. as far as replacement rotors i use napa parts all the way around.

The f350 2wd dually will have the mono beam, not ifs. This sounds like what duallynoted is talking about. Look at super duty tow trucks too see what I'm talking about.

some super duty f-350 duallies may have a straight front axle when they are 2wd but not all of them. i think most passenger models have IFS. and most of the stetched cab/chassis model have solid axle. i am no expert but i know i have worked duallie super dutys with coil spring IFS. but in this case he has a 4WD with a dana 60 and ford calls that a monobeam.
Actually on a 2000 4x4, front axle is a Dana 50. The Dana 60 does not arrive until the 2002 Model year.
No it's a Dana 60, all duallies 4x4s got the Dana 60 starting in 99, the SRW trucks began getting D60s in 02 as you stated. As for the 2wds, all F350 2wd trucks have an independant twin I beam setup, very similar to the old body style 2wds. F450 and F550 2wds use a undriven monobeam front axle.
I need to do shocks on my 97 F350 7.3 and can't tell if I have a monobeam front end and alot of shocks have that option. Can anyone help me out? Please and thank you.
