Fuel Guage Problem
I have a 1996 Ford Ranger with a 2.3 4 cylinder engine and the problem I have is my fuel guage stopped working and it stays on EMPTY at all times..Any help with this would be appreciated...........

Find the plug going into the fuel tank. If I remember right, there should be a yellow/white wire among others. Take a short piece of scrap wire and stick up into the plug where the yellow/white wire is. Take the other end and touch it to a clean place on the frame. With the key on, the fuel guage should be full scale in one direction. Take the scrap piece of wire off the frame and let the yellow/white wire touch nothing. The guage should swing back the other way full scale. If it passes this test, then the wiring and the guage are ok, and there is something wrong with the sending unit in the tank.
