Fuel Guage wiring

Anyone know how to hook up the fuel guage in a 83 Ranger?I have two wires hanging from the tank and two wires to the guage but I need power from somewhere huh?

If it's wired the same as my 87 the yellow/white wire attaches to the gauge. Voltage comes from the gauge on this wire thru the sending unit then to ground on the other wire.

Have you got a wiring diagram???

no,no wiring diagram.The truck has been converted to a 302 and the electric fuel pump is mounted under the hood with a fuel pressure regulator.Yhe wiring is quite a mess,bought it that way.I figure I'll go one at a time,LOL

Not sure if yours is this way but fuel gauges usually work off the resistance between the wires. If the sending unit moves up/down the resistance changes and the gauge moves accordingly.
