Gas pedal / brake pedal

Is it me or does the gas and brake pedal seem close together? Ive hit the brake and just and caught the edge of the gas pedal a couple of times. My wife has done the same thing. Before we bought the 05' our "new" was a 78" Ranger XLT scab . I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to it, but my work truck is a 2000' I've never had it happen in that truck. Any thoughts.

Yeah, I have done it at least twice. My double E shoes might have something to do with it, but my wife has done it once also, and she is on the tall thin side, with narrow shoes...

A little further apart would be nice. Not going to trim the pedal or anything, but I am going to be aware of it.

I was just wondering if anyone else had the same prob. BTW size 10 feet, not clown feet by any stretch. I'm more aware of it now and getting used to it and don't consider it a problem....love my truck!

It could be the bushing on the brake pedal assembly, or it could be a broke bracket in the brake assembly.

I don't think you are getting the problem. The pedals are a little too close together. They are also very close to the same height. Sit in the new model truck, and you can press both the brake and the gas with your foot at the same time.

It's a design thing.

I never would have thought of this again were it not for this post. But I DO remember when I bought it thinking "I am glad I am a 2-ffoted driver"

I agree that it can be a possible issue.
