Oil

I do not know that much about oil. I do know that you guy said to use a diesel engine oil. About the only types we have is Rotella and i can not rember the name of the other brand. I have been all over this town and the only thing that i have found has been SAE 30, 5W-30 and 40, and 15W-30 and 40

What would be the best to go with.

I run the Rotella 15w-40 in my Mack truck. Never tried it in a gasser yet.

I run 20w-50 in the hot rods(valvoline) and 10w-40 in old 352.

I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference. It's just like Ford/chevy....it's all preference!

I think oil is all about personal preference and brand loyalty. Personally, I have run Valvoline in all my motors and my 12 year old daily driver with 160k is still going strong on 5-30.... When did the rebuild on my 390, ran 10-40 with the recommended break in additive, then went 10-40 with a recommended "new engine" additive from my machine shop.

i would run the 15w40 ,rotella t is a good oil go for it ,i use their 10w30

I use Kendall GT-1 now 20-50. I use to be a "BIG" Valvoline man myself (20-50 Race oil). I get the Kendall GT-1 for $.25 cheaper a quart LOL! The two oils are damn good oil (Valvoline or Kendall). "JMO"
