you got it grey, i dont have the money either, cause the second i get it its out the door, but when i do have it, i go for the gold. really, its not that expensive to build yourself a comp. i paid 75 for my 2.93 gig and a motherboard after a rebate, i got a used case from a local comp place for 15 buck, used a oldl power supply, cd burner, and ram, all had laying around. right now im in this comp for 85 bucks, so not bad. if you have to buy everything, your talkin a couple of hundred, but its a heckof alot better than a dell peice.

But I also do a lot of Autocad drawings, run big Lotus spreadsheets and photo editing as well.
Can you still even buy a 40 gig HD?
Last time I went to the store I think the smallest they had was 60 gig.

Nice machines u got there, Dave. I think 40gb are still in shelves. I am gonna go with a P4 by the way. Also, I read P4EE has 1066 FSB mhz. Is that true?
Ok, just read some info on SATA. Sounds good, and will get that instead of IDE HD's.
Oh yea the cooling. How do you guys do liquid-cools??? MRKnight, your first post mentioned u have it...u got any pics of that mad setup? I was just gonna use a bunch of fans with some TEC modules since I have that already. My PC would sound loud tho with like 4 cooling fans on it.
Guess its gonna a nice difference once i get that mustang here .
That is one sick setup u got there, mrknight. I agree on those Peltzier coolers...they are power hungry. In fact, I was playing with one today and after being plugged in to 12V 15amps, the COLD side started getting HOT..lol, not good. I may need to step down the power on that...or maybe just get a monster fan like the one u have
On to motherboards...u guys ever hear of Soyo motherboards? I took a look at their website and they look pretty decent.
I'm building up my new system Monday once I get my motherboard in:
Pentium 4 3.2ghz on a Intel D915PBL Mobo
1gb DDR2-533 ram
Radeon x600 PCI-E 256MB DDR
80GB SATA Seagate
16x DVD-ROM
Asus 19" LCD Monitor
I'm running it in a black Lava Lamp case packing a 600W power supply, black monitor, black DVD-ROM and keyboard.
