Installing a rug - molded or flat?

Getting ready to remount the cab and put in the carpet on my '53 F100. I went with a non-stock paint (Crystal Blue metallic) and want to both quiet the cab and hide some of my less-than-stellar fiberglass work at the floor joints.
Given the topology of the 53 floor pan, do I need to get a molded rug or can I install a flat rug, trimming as I need to. It's the transmission hump that has me concerned. Advice?

I went the molded route carpet. Actually, after doing my carpet, you could use either method. The molded didn't appear molded rather a square piece of carpet which still needed trimming. As for the transmission hump, the carpet will lay down. It looks a little lumpy at first, but after a while the carpet lays flat. The molded carpet was easy to install, but I'd probably save some money and use standard carpet from a carpet store next time. The molded carpet come with the heel pad also, if that's important to you.

I had my upholstery guy use two rectangular pieces of split pile. The first piece is mounted under the seat rails. The second piece covers from under the dash and overlaps the back portion. The SS strips in the doors hold down the edges. This way, I can geet into the under-floor battary compartment by just removing the door trim and pulling back the carpet. Jag

Got a deal on a carpet kit for the floor. Left the old there and placed the new on top. Helped with the sound. For behind the seat I went to Home Depot and got a carpet 6x9 and had enough left over for the kick panels. Came out pretty good for a low price. Door panels and headliner are next. Gallery has one pick.
