I need to get my tekonsha brake controller hooked up in my 2000 Super duty.
Went and bought the controler, hooked up all the fuses and relays as per the ford kit.
When I pulled the dash kick panel I was expecting to find the socket to plug my contoller in, all I could find was 4 wires of very light gauge where the socket should be. Red, blue, black and white are the wires that are just hanging there. I've tired using my DMM to verify the wires, but I cannot get any of them to show any signs of life. The red, blue, black, white wires I tried to match up with the same color leads on the controler as shown at the bottom of the picture. You can also see where the socket should be.
This is the first time this truck has had a contoller, so I can't figure out why the socket is missing.
How do I go about using the stock wiring in this case (I have all the hook ups in the rear already)?

The socket should be right behind the hole where the white arrows point. It is set back behind this hole, and can be fairly difficult to get plugged in. If it's not there, I don't have a clue.
cloleson is correct--the socket is on the OTHER side of the brace. It should be attached to the brace by a plastic bayonet fitting. It it ain't there, someone took it off. It is (I think) gray plastic with six holes.
it is on the other side of the brace but not through the bottom hole (where the arrows point to) it is through the larger hole that has the two vertical plugs in front of it. you pict shows i large plug filling that hole, my truck did not have that plug in the way nor do the install instructions show it being there. if you send me an e-mail i can send you a PDF of the instructions
When going from my '02 F250 to the '04 F350, I couldn't find the plug. Took it to Discount Hitch in Arlington, TX--told him I needed a brake controller connection, since mine didn't come with one--he bet me $1 my truck had it. Had to pay him. It is on the passenger side of the main brace held by a white plastic bayonet fitting--at least it was on my '04. And its real hard to get to it.
Take a look at that picture again...
The connector should be sitting right next to the harness in the upper hole...
If you look closely, it looks like it might have been there...I bet if you look around back there you will find it...It should be fastened by a plug to the little hole you can see there....At least that is where mine is...
did you find your connector? I had to fish around a littlle on the other side of the support to find mine.
Also, what did you add in to requir all the extra wire and scotch locks?
