Have the mechanic check the heater hose above the #4 COP to see if it is leaking. That can cause the COP to go bad.

in 1997 fords programs for the computer was to sensative.just for a small miss the computer would set a code.if the veh. was under warr. it would cost ford .so thay made the program less sensitive so the light wouldnt come on as easy,the cust. wouldnt take it to the shop because no cel.go figure

Well after a new COP it is running a little bit better. It still sputters a bit when under load. At this point we think it may be the fuel. I filled it up with 87 a meer hour before it started giving me fits. I may just drop some fuel mixture in, run it for a bit, take it to the lot and trade it in. Thanks for the help fellas.

I-m tech- I guess I do have to remember that was the first year for OB II codes. So yea it makes since.
