Will a sliding glass from an 80's pickup fit in a 73 F100 cab?

Yes 73-96 Will Fit Get The Gasket For The 80's Glass Your 73 Gasket Will Work But The Glass In The 73 Is Thicker Than The 80's It Might Tend To Leak Try And Find A 90's Slider Lot Nicer Looking Slider Than The 80's.

Does that mean that the 90's glass with fit? Do you mean just up to 1996, or even newer than that? How hard would that be to get out of a junkyard truck?

97+ will not fit, any year from 73 and all years in between until 96.

Most sliding rear windows get leaky after awhile so if you get one from a wrecking yard make sure the seals are still decent.

Question

What's the process for getting one of these windows out of a truck? The seals on mine look pretty bad, so I'll have to get it all from the donor truck.

actually, i've heard that the windows all the way back to 67 will work. as far as getting the glass out, if you dont care about the rubber, just take a razor knife and cut the inside lip of the rubber off. slides right out after you get that done.

no earlier than 73 will not fit. you just take a razor and slice it out. you then install it with a brand new seal.

although if you find one in a truck with a good seal... grab a buddie, and a few flat screw drivers. Start on one of the lower corners and from under the seal inside the truck pry up the seal till you see the metal lip that the window actually sits on. then take the second screw driver and use it to hold the seal up by pressing it between the seal and the metal lip. Repeat this process all the way around the lower edge of the seal. The window will start coming out have the buddie on the outside of the truck to hold the window from crashing and breaking.

Really simple to do .. just take your time.. dont try to push the window out without prying the seal... you will bend the metal frame of the slider, and possibley break the glass.

To put the window back in ...

grabe some cloths line rope from your local hardware store... you want a rope that is smooth... Soak the rope in soapy water for just a few minutes.. then push the rope into the seal of your donor window. Start again at one of the lower corners.

Then ... Grab a buddie... and put the window in the cab. you want to put the top part of the widow in the groove. Then At the bottom Start pulling the rope making sure the seal starts to wrap around the metal lip of the cab. Keep pulling the rope while the "buddie" pushes on the outside of the window seal area. Simple...

I have this process down .. I can do it by my self... but for the first timers I suggest a buddie!!!!

Good luck

I pulled one off of a 91 using a screwdriver and a stick. It took time, but I got it out without damaging the seal. $8 is all it cost me.
