Question

sloppy shifter

i have a '93 ranger and it has a very sloppy shifter. i went to my ford dealer to get new bushings, they look like very thin washers actually, and well they can't sell them separtately from whatever it is they come with, i have to buy this whole new part for the stupid bushings. what should i do? any ideas on how to fix this, or am i just gonna have to live with it?

you could try the salvage yards for some bushings if they are in halfway decent shape.

I bought a Hurst billet plus shifter for $200, it is the best part i put on my truck. It shifts like a race car now.
