all my manuals show is rpm signal faults, pip, and spout circuit problems now what dose this mean? and how do i take care of this.. it acts like someone shuts off my truck randomly (any speed any condition) sometimes it will start sometimes it has to sit for a while ... but it has me confused.. any info would be appreciated.
Well guess what, you need a new module and pick-up assy. That's why you are getting those codes, they all have to do with spark which is what you lost when the truck dies out. Get the stuff and put it on,unless you have already done it recently, but there is allways defects in new parts any way.Let me know what turns up.

From what I remember, most dist's were reman! If the module came with the dist. there is a good chance it is reman also.NOT GOOD!Code 18 has two functions{1}To set base timing while engine is running{2}memory code of:ign. tach signal eratic. To check the spout{spark output}ckt.#36 function, when engine dies, remove the spout plug and restart the vehicle,if it restarts, the ign. system is good and further checking of the wires and computer are neccessary. For the tach function ckt.#4{even though you don't have a tach, this how the computer knows the rpm's},which so happens to be the IDM signal, there is a 22kohm res. inline to the computer that may be failing under heat that is going open that will cause a stall. The manual you have ought to have the wire diagram.Otherwise, you'll need a new computer cause the driver for these functions is failing. If you have a tach{O.E.}and the needle falls to zero before the engine does as it stalls, replace the computer,it was a hard learned lesson.
Sorry,
