My rear window latch will open randomly. sometimes when the truck is at idle, sometimes when I am driving. It now happens about 4 times per day. Has anyone else experienced this? any suggestions?
Nobody has heard of this before??... it is starting to happen very frequently, if anyone could give me some help i would appreciate it. the other day i couldnt even back out of the driveway because it kept coming unlatched. I tried with ford but they dont have a clue and it will cost a fortune for them to do their fun through. Thanks
Does it have the latch release on the fob? If so I would make sure nothing is inadvertantly pushing on the button. Another idea would be to make sure the fobs are no where near the truck and see if it still does it. On my my wifes 03 Exploder it was happening and it turned out the remote was getting pushed by accident. It must have happened a lot as some of the newer ones you need to push the button twice to open the window.
No issues here with mine. I'd do as previously suggested, keep the fobs way far away to determine if it is the truck or one of the fobs popping the window. Leave the fobs at home and drive the truck around for a day and see what happens. If it's the truck, go after the button on the rear gate, check for a chaffed wire in there. If it's a fob, pop it open and see if you can find something shorting out, replace the battery too.
Keep this in mind: the fob will pop the rear window with the truck locked/unlocked, but the rear hatch button will only pop the window if the truck is unlocked.
