I didn't get any keyless Fobs when I bought the truck last month. Looking on ebay there are several available. But I want to confirm the FCC ID #'s etc...
Would someone with a 97 mind telling me what the differnt ID codes on the back of your Fob are. That way I can make sure I purchase the right one.
Why not contact Ford about it? They tie everything to the VIN#.
Another thing: If I were asked what the code is on the back of my key fob, I would be reluctant to give it out. Someone could come along and take my truck!
The code on the back is the Fob is a Model number in essence. All the trucks from 97 will have the same numbers on the back. the individual program key for your transmitter is not printed on the casing... I think you can only access that with OBD II.
But with the wrong Fob Model it cannot be programmed to the vehicle. That is why I need to know which one was used on 97 F-250 or 350's.
Do me a favor.......go out to your truck, and turn the key from "off" to "on" eight times within 10 seconds....ending in the on position. If the door locks cycle, then email me.

Take care.
this is the correct procedure, but it is only for the newer models. looked in my mitchell and this works for the newer fords and tried it on my budies 02 SD ... then if the power locks activate hit lock then unlock on the remote then it is programmed.
on the obs i think it was that you had to ground or dissconnect a wire that goes to GEM then you can set the remote to it. not 100% sure cuz mine did not have the keyless!!!! RATS!!
