Well pulled my two piece drive shaft out of my 77 F-250 2 wheel drive, and I am going to put a new hanger bearing on it, when I can find a piece of pipe to fit so I can drive it on.
Anyway, it was not lined up properly or phased they may call it.
So the book says to line up two arrows, well I can find one arrow on the female splined reciever end, but the splined male, I can not find an arrow on it, unless it is under the blue coating they use to keep it tight or whatever it is for.
Any ideas where the heck the corresponding arrow would be?
Well looked at two vehicles, on one they have the two main shafts ears oposite to each other, but then I look at another truck and both main shafts have the ears in line, book picture that shows lining up stamped arrows of which I can only find one on the female spline end, shows the two shafts have to be set 90 degrees from each other.
Makes one wonder which is right?
Will have to give that a go once I finish painting it, of course I gather it may not be balanced and I will have to try 180 from where I first try to make sure I get it back to how it was set up when balanced.
