I got my new ZOOPS brackets today and started tearing into the engine. Pulled everything off the front and getting ready to put her back together again. Had to pull the water pump since my nice hex head recessed pulley bolts rounded out. Looks like I'll have to drill them out and there's not enough room between radiator and water pump to get a drill in. I'm not real pleased with that setup. While I'm at it I'm putting on a high flow Edelbrock water pump.
Also have to move the A/C and P.S. pumps to the opposite side of the engine sooo.... I need to pickup some high pressure hoses for both somewhere. Anyone know where to pick up custom made hoses (high pressure)???

Seems like you'll have to pull the radiator and grille out.

If you move the A/C and pwr. st. to the passenger side, You have to swap the alt. and smog pump to the drivers side? Whoa....when I replaced the 3 A/C lines a few years back, cost $250 from Ford. I think I'd take a step back and take a long look at this.......I sure as heck wouldn't move the A/C, pwr. str. if there was any way around it, seems like a whole nuther set of problems.....You might oughta (if it ain't to late) search the Internet junk yards for the 2 1/2 brackets that make up the single belt surpintine system, That's 1 part of the motor you won't have to worry about again, but I have no idea what a zoops bracket is.
Its a neat setup, I've seen it at the car shows. You run a GM PS pump on the passenger side low, the Sanden A/C passenger side high, and the altenator on the driver's side low. (I'm not running a smog pump, and I passed the smog test a couple of months ago.) Eliminates the large A/C hoses crossing over the engine. The altenator is a 100 amp GM single wire. The Zoops brackets all adjust 3/4" either side of center line allowing you to get everything lined up without washers or some other type of shim.
I think it can be done locally at a hydraulic hose shop. For the power stg. pump, the GM pumps before ,79 has a 3/8" tube flare pressure port that is all to common to hydraulics. For the gear box,I think it is a 5/16" tube flare, not so common, but you can get a 3/8" fem. x 5/16" male adapter.Measure the route of the pressure hose and have the hose shop build it with 3/8" light duty hyd. hose{it's more flexible than steel braided}with angled ends if necessary. For the A/C,didn't you have to build hoses in the first place when you put that Sanden on there? Just have them shortened and recrimped{don't forget that EPA is watching you...he-he}.Oh yeah, that one wire alt. is a blessing, but you may have a lit up battery light after and no voltage to the choke thermostat and I know that doesn't scare you.

I didn't think about shortening my existing hose (and no, I didn't have to redo my hoses when I put my Sanden on. It really fit pretty well.) Now if I can only figure out how to stretch the other hose... I didn't think about the battery light and the electric choke is a surprise. I'm pulling voltage for the choke off my fuse panel in the power window bay (comes on with ignition). I can also option to hook up the altenator as a 3 wire (maybe I'll do that). Well, now to find some hydraulic parts store....
