I'm losing the headliner on my truck. The cloth is dropping from the ceiling. It's not torn or anything and looks in good shape. It looks like the glue has given out. How do I fix, or do I have to purchase a new headliner, and how difficult is it to replace?
You can just reglue you old headliner if it is just coming off. PEP Boys autoparts sell kits or just the spray on glue for them, They are not too difficult to remove. Becarful not to tear or break the cardboard backing.
I bought some plastic pins that are made for this problem from Advance Auto for about $3. They resemble screws but are made of plastic and have large heads. They screw into the cardboard that the headliner is glued to. You don't even have to take the headliner out of the truck and can dye the plastic screws to match your interior (they come in black).

Hey Steve,if you're gonna remove the board for reglueing, you might as well put a fresh piece of material. You see,the material is a cloth fabric "mated" to a foam backing and what usually happens is the fabric seperates from the foam rather than the foam seperating from the board.Of coarse you can glue the fabric back to the foam with a "foam safe" adhesive but the adhesive may bleed through the fabric showing up as a hard spot. Check an interior or upholstery shop for pricing on them doing the whole job or just the material, you might be suprised.
