It stickers for $156,900. We had a customer call and offer us $60,000 over that, so we said "SOLD!"

We have one in Williamsburg Ford in Virginia and it's going for about 250K right now because of market demand.

Wow. Did they not know they retail price, or were they just making sure they got one?

I'm sure they knew the retail price. What they paid, is what the vehicle is worth to them (and others).

A company does not actually determine the price of a product, it's the consumer market that sets the price of a product. A company simply sells their product at the most profitable point, which is not always the highest price.

Thats crazy. I mean, i know the car's history and all.. but 250,000? Is it still a ferarri killer? I haven't seen any comparisons for it yet.

Does for plan on racing with it?

Car and Driver put it up against a ferrari, and a porsche (it falls right in the middle of them pricewise). The GT came out on top in all categories.

This guy called us and asked if we could get one. We said we were on the list but it hadn't been ordered yet, and we didn't know when we would get it. He said perfect, as he wanted to order it to his specifications (he must have changed the color 4 times- it's bright red with the white stripes). He said whatever the sticker price came out to with his options, he'd pay that plus $60,000. He'd been on eBay and saw some listed in the $250,000-$300,000 range, but didn't like the "vibes" he was getting from the dealers when he contacted them (go figure...). He thought $60k over sticker was a fair price, and obviously so did we.

We had debated how to price ours when we got it (we discount everything, but, hey, we're not stupid! ). We thought about doing a silent auction, and just let it go to the highest bidder. But when this guy came along and proved with the CASH that he was for real, we decided to go with the sure thing.

It's sitting outside my window right now, about 15 feet away. Constant flow of "admirers" all day long. Please excuse me as I go get a mop to clean up the drool under my desk...

60k aint bad for a days work

I still cant believe that people are willing to pay 60k over sticker for a car

But if thats what the market is willing to pay I think its great
