Older Trackers, Sidekicks.....?

I'm looking at getting 92 Chebby Tracker as an around town cheap on gas vehicle. Gonna park the truck and just use it for hauling and whenever I need a truck type stuff. Does anyone have one of these or the Suzuki, or Geo clones, and if so...any thoughts on it. Thanks for any reply's.

Hmm. The least safe vehicle on the road? These things are really prone to tip overs.. The center of gravity is so high in them that they can feel unstable durning normal driving.

Of the three people I used to know that had the Trackers all had serious problems. If I recall correctly they spent more time in the shop for repairs than they did on the road. Not trying to rip on your decision by any means but all of the owners sold them as soon as they could.

My brother-in-law has one and really enjoys it. He got it dirt cheap and drives it everywhere-- it is his daily run-around driver. The only thing he has had to do was replace the canvas top. As with anything else, your experience may vary.

Check out parts prices before you buy one of these. Everything you've saved in gas can get flushed down the drain if you're forced to buy a Suzuki starter, Suzuki water pump, Suzuki electronics, etc...

We had an 02 Tracker. Good on gas, decent power. Just after warranty, the water pump started leaking. So I topped it off, cleaned it up, and traded it in.

To any locals looking for a convertible Tracker, stay away from a black ZX2.

Anyway, it was okay 4 wheeling, nothing I got myself over my head in. But on road, the wheelbase is too short. My wife liked it though.
