Ford F150 - 1 / Geo Tracker - 0........Pictures!

Well, i was in my first accident today on my way home from work. I just stopped behind a brand new Dodge Ram. We were at a red light about 4 cars back from the intersection. i looked in my rear view and saw this tracker flying up behind me and not slowing. So i braced for impact. WHAMM!

Then i ran into the new Ram in front of me, the Ram and I pulled over into a empty lot, we were more worried about our trucks than if the lady that hit me was ok. Well sorry to say the Geo Tracker didnt make it. And my truck barely has any damage from her hitting me. I have more damage in the front from being pushed into the Ram, but all the front and rear is cosmetic (hopefully) Oh ya, i also have a tow hook in my receiver, i think that took the blunt of the collision. The only damage in the rear is a couple scratches on the bumper, the plastic on top of the bumber is cracked and my trailer harness plug is bent.

Here are some pictures. F-150 held up pretty good. The lady was going at least 20 MPH. No one was hurt either. And that is my first accident. 11 years of driving and thats my first.

Tracker:

Here is the front. The plastic upper bumber is cracked on both sides by the head light, the grille surround is broke and the lower bumber is bent down. You can see his empty received went right into my lower grille. He just came away with a couple scratches on his bumper.

Glad nobody was hurt, XJ. Looks like yer f150 took the hit fairly well. If the Ram wouldn't have been in front of you I'd say you wouldn't have gotten any damage of consequence.

Im not to sure about any goodies, but i know im pretty excited that i will get a new painted front bumper! Mine was all pitted with stone chips like everyone elses. So im sure it will look pristeen here in about a week or so.

When i pulled away front the accident and saw the front of her car in my rear view i thought for sure my truck was destroyed in the back, and i was quite suprised when i got out and there wasnt anything but a dent in the bumper.

I have freind that the same thing happened to him in his 06 F150, he had a hitch in his receiver and got rear ended, the other persons car was totaled and he just needed a new bumper.

Im sure it would have been a lot worse if i didnt have anything in my receiver.

That would be nice, and it doesnt hurt either that the guy that owns the company i work for, his brother owns the dealership with the collision center im taking my truck to.

Also there is tracker blood sprayed all over my tailgate. My tow hook in my reciever went right through the radiator! I was over at her car snapping pictures before i even asked if she was ok. Priorities! i know i had to get pictures to put up here.

what year is your truck? can't remember

but yeah, the insurance company will cut a check based on the damage estimates by the Repair Center...just talk to the Manager there and explain what you want. You might have to pay a few $$$ for the difference in price, but I'd bet money they'll go for it.

check your front bumper area and see if the wiring harness is there

Estimate came back at $3500 to start. We will see what happens after they dig into it.

Well i dropped my truck off yesterday to get fixed. Also ive been hearing the slight rear end hum when on the gas coming from the rear after the lady hit me (very faint, im not even sure it is the rear, but might as well have them check it), so ill see if they end up fixing that.

Also getting some regular maintenance while its in there too, oil change, fuel filter. Plus the high is only about 22* here and i dont feel like freezing my ***** off in the garage doing that stuff.
