I would begin with checking the accelerator pump on the carb. Is it getting a good shot? - If not, it could cause the symptom you describe. With the engine off, take off your air cleaner, hold the choke butterfly open and quickly open the accelerator linkage to wide open. You should see two good streams of gas shooting down from the center front of the throttle bore as you open the throttle. If you don't, that is where to begin troubleshooting.

Question accellerator pump looks good

i checked the accellerator pump and it checked out ok
it had two real strong squirts of fuel
any other suggestions?
could it be a vaccuum problem (vaccuum advance)
when I first start it -it will die unless i keep punching the gas and sometimes it will still die even so---once it warms up it will start up with no problems-but the accelrationthen slips on the highway---if I punch it to make a light (for example)
i stall for about a second or two then it picks up..........

Did you replaced the power valve as well?
if so, look at the no imprint on it. it should be 6-7. if it's lower than 6, or higher than 9 than that is you're problem.

Power valve, if it is MC2100/2150, is located at the base of the carb, covered by a square plate, hold by for screws.

Check for vacuum leaks as well.

Yes, it is what you see under the float bowl, and is between the idle mixture screws
