Is anyone aware of a manufacturer that produces headers to fit my truck. I've looked at most of the big names: Headman,Edelbrock, Gibsons,Flowmaster etc. They all do make a headers application for 351W, but none have an allowance for the AIR system to hook up --[fresh air smog pump] --- Where I live we are subject to emissions testing and I want to keep all the OEM emissions crap in place . So do I not have any options other than keeping factory manifolds?
Do you have an F250 or 350? There are no air fittings on 351 headers in F150's, with the exception of the EGR port. Have you looked for Doug Thorley headers? They might make headers for the heavy duty 351's with the air fittings.
Can't use the ones for the 5.0. They'll fit the motor but they won't fit the chassis and the rest of the exhaust. The couplers are in a different spot.
My truck is an F-150 with 351W . Its Canadian model since I'm in Canada maybe thats the difference? The way I look at on the passenger side manifold It has a port for the EGR valve and also on that side it looks like the AIR pump has a tube (its rubber most of the way back to firewall) that feeds into the manifold as well. I'll have to have another look I guess I''l crawl under there to make sure.
Also who has done the header thing and how much of a bitch was the install on these trucks with the motor in?
Are you sure the air pipe goes directly into the header? The pipe that runs along the passenger side manifold goes down to the exhaust pipe just before the second cat. converter, and there is another branch of the air hoses that feeds the back of the cylinder heads.
Just so everyone is clear, I'm leaving this exhaust question here because it deals specifically with the air pipes. Any general header/exhaust question doesn't belong here, it belongs in the exhaust forum. This thread is an exception.
The F-250 I have, has a small air line going to each cylinder that taps into the manifold. It also has the EGR hook up in the front of the manifold on the passanger side.
I didn't run that on my new truck, I retained the stock F-150 thermactor system and EGR. I wonder if you can convert the F-250 from the system it has now, to the other system like the F-150's have. I'd have to look into mine further but worst case senario, look at how the tubes are connected to the manfold, most likely you can weld bungs into the new headers and just hook em up with new connectors.

This might be what I do good tip. Ill use a hole saw where needed and weld in bung-s I just hope they make bungs that big or else more fab work I guess.
Still wondering how hard it is to wrestle the old manifolds out and the new headers in on these trucks looks like a son of a gun job.

I gotta get under the truck again but this sounds right . Thanks.
the hardest part is breaking the blankidy blank bolts free. it took me 3 days to get mine on because the bolts where rust welded in place other than that it was a simple.
Hey mustang hows that 393 running? Sorry i never got back to you on how to swap pins on your connector ( got busy on my truck finnaly got all the parts to finish putting my motor back together and get it running), if your still intrested i can get it for you.
