Another how much lift question

If persay I happend to come up with a set of rockwells & a set of 49" micheline XL's (for 50$) how much overall lift do you think it would take to fit them under a 79' F-350?
Keep in mind NO fender trimming.

Ivan and pro will be able to answer it more accurately, but but judging by there pics, at least 20" and probably closer to 22" and at most...better wait for them Pro has 44's w/ 18" but its a 73or 74 i think, dont know how much they changed up to 79

Do you anticipate much flex

If they're top loaders I'll say 15" should do the trick for the axles but you'll really need closer to 20" to make those tires fit, just as Raw Power mentioned. Pro's truck could mall crawl 49's but for wheeling they'd be into his fenders. Problem with running a tire that big and not cutting the fenders is the fender radius is so small the corners will cut into your tires unless you have the whole truck sitting high enough, basically so that the rocker panel is even with the top of the tire.

Nah, It'll probably be another mall crawler for pic'in up 15 yr old high school girls,

I was thinking with 6" skyjacker springs, 6" drop spring hangers & shackle relocation, then using a raised spring pad welded to the rockwells (approx 6") and a 3" body lift I could net around 21 inches,
Actually I don't know what truck I'm going to do this with, I have a 75' F-250 that's mostly there, or I could throw it all under my 79' supercab since it's mostly mall crawl & never moves anyway,
It's all just in the planning stage any way, the 49' is still priority & needs finished first, tinkering with this idea is just something to do when I get tired of doing body work,

Yeah Ivan there the top loaders, I've only got the front right now, picked it up when I got the tires, I would have gotten a rear too, but I'm thinking about rear steer while I'm at it,

I wouldnt do 6" extended spring perches...even though your welds are impeccable. If you were goin to still do heightened perhces Id go 3" max and ake them the width of the spring(duh) and about 8-10" long, w/ triangular reinforcements. If that makes sense. Or were you planning on doing one of those truss-spring mount combo things? (commonly seen on trucks w/ airbags) AHHA! You need airbags! Seriously, Id do bags... then you could have a 6" bag perch and mount the bags way down low...like at frame level.

Then you would have some awesome flex for a 250

I was planning on cross bracing to support side to side movement along with a pan hard bar to control the side to side movement (also for correct steering geometry), Also to control fore & aft movement a ladder bar setup, simalar to thishttps://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...=79538&width=0
I thought about a 4-link with 9" lift coils for an F150, but I would like to keep this one simple & not let it get out of hand like the other truck,

What do you want to use it for? If you want to keep the sheetmetal untouched then you'll need massive lift to keep your desired tires out of your fenderwells, epecially if you'll be working the suspension. The estimate of @22" lift is probably accurate. I'd give thought to doing some trimming, then having the edges rolled. It will still look good that way.

How about you buy those axles and tires for $50 and sell them to me for $100 so I can acutally use them (no mall crawler here), I'll go and pick'em up too so you dont have to trouble yourself and you wont have to butcher that 79 350. Everybody wins

....please?

Actually only the tires were $50, won them on ebay,
Are you in the Socal area? that is where I got the tires & diff, the tires were in Newbury, (near L.A.) & the diff was in Barstow,
I've already picked them up, so it's to late to save a trip,

Pro the reason I'm trying to not trim is that I may try to put it all under My 79' supercab, seeing as it is already painted I would like to try not chopping on it yet,
As far as use, I will probably not be flexing it much, mostly for crusing the dunes & pulling people out of the sand & mud, (trying to get a little use out of a mall crawler)
