Lots of lift is ghey, but sometimes theres no other way around it. Well, theres always ways around everything, but Im saying within reason, or in this case, Skip's specific plans for his truck.
Pro rubs and he has a good bit of clearance (look at his gallery).
Then again, its Pro- Im sure he can get a ranger w/ 40" of lift and 29" SSR's to rub...
at full stuff front and rear i have no rubbing, every now and then a tire might kiss the inner fender on the bed in the rear. Most of the cutting has to be done in the front
i have more felx than most 6 inch lifts also....due to my rear springs up front
You play in allot of rocks, so lots of lift would hurt you. I play in bottemless mud, where little lift would have me sitting on my frame and out of the game. It all depends on how we want to use our trucks.

Actually only the tires were $50, won them on ebay,
Are you in the Socal area? that is where I got the tires & diff, the tires were in Newbury, (near L.A.) & the diff was in Barstow,
I've already picked them up, so it's to late to save a trip,
Pro the reason I'm trying to not trim is that I may try to put it all under My 79' supercab, seeing as it is already painted I would like to try not chopping on it yet,
As far as use, I will probably not be flexing it much, mostly for crusing the dunes & pulling people out of the sand & mud, (trying to get a little use out of a mall crawler)
Yeah, in Rancho cucamonga, near the I-10/I-210/I-15 junctions. You probably drove through my area if you went from LA to barstow. So you got the tires for 50 bucks huh, what was the owners reason for selling them?
I did go right by there I took the 210 across the top of L.A. then took the 15 to Barstow, I think that area has the worst traffic I've ever seen, also whats up with any vehicle pulling a trailer has to go 55mph & only use the two right hand lanes, (ask me how I learned this bit of info)
any way heres a couple pics off ebay of the tires I bought, https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...=79610&width=0 https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...=79611&width=0
The guy selling them said they were supposed to go on the green truck in the pics but abandond the project & had them laying around, he said he just wanted them out of the way, two of the tires have knicks in the side walls but not bad ones, they don't even go all the way through,
no pics of the rockwells yet, I payed $800 after tax I though it was a little steep but I got my choice out of a stack of several hundred diff, I picked the best looking one (cleanest\no leaks) then after getting it home & disassembly I found the diff was brand new the drums didn't even have a scratch in the paint on the inside, the wheel bearing grease was like new & the ring & pinion did not have the first hint of a pattern worn on them, the intermediate & bull gear had a little surface rust (I'm guessing caus it never had oil in it) but nothing a little clean up didn't take care of, so all in all not a bad deal for 800 bucks, they wanted $550 for a rear, I think I can pick one up cheaper than that,
For all those that don't like the big lifted truck I agree, I'm not a fan of the 25" lifted super duty's with 44 swampers, but if I put this stuff under the supercab I can't justify cutting on a perfect paint job, also the way I would like to lift the truck is set it up so if the rockwells & 49" tires don't work as well as I thought they should, then I can pull them out put the d-60's back in & a set of 44's & call it good, I would't want it to look like a 10" lift hacked fenders & 35's,
Most of us here would agree that Cody's powerstroke is a good looking truck, (not that I want to copy him) but his truck has lots of lift, no trimming & fairly usable, I would just like to see a 79' set up similar to that,
ive been stuck and sitting on the frame too, but thats after standing on it after i stopped foward motion, and moving down instead of foward, im always stopped when my axles sink
that guy was an idiot, he didnt know wut he was tlkin about

There used to be a guy on here named Ho, I wish he was still around because he'd tell you that big lift is the way to go
