I have been wondering how the 92-96 mirrors would fit and look, you can get them like these with the chrome fronts.

to me thoes mirrors look to modern for classy truck. Maybe one of you guys tryign to do liek a retro style truck out of one of these it would look great on. Just my 2cents. I am puttign the swing and lock type that orignaly came on these truck. I saw one withthem on and they dotn look to bad so thats wut im using. These truck need a mirror bigger then a car mirror but not as big as a bigrig so i believe the type i picked out will suit me just fine. I ordered a set for a 73-79 from LMC truck. Now I jsut gota wait for them to come and get them installed.
thanks,
Jimmy

That's what I want to do, Keep the old swing outs, but put some round 80s mirrors on them. Matt99362 did you do that? or something different?

Just wondering,
-Matt

MBBFord,
That's exactly what I did. My 78 had the swing arms on it and I put the mirrors from my 86 BroncoII on it. It looks really good, doesn't give it a "retro" look at all. It looks like it came with them.

I really like the 80s round style, and I got a pair from the junk yard, not knowing the brackes wouldn't line up. I have some black brackets and mirrors on my truck, and I cann't do this until I get some crome brackets.

How to mount West Coast mirrors?

How do you mount those west coast mirrors to the top of the door? My truck didn't come with these, but I'm considering making the swtich. From what I have seen, the ones at Princess Auto don't have any mounting hardware, just the mirrors.

Oh yeah, I thought I'd revive this thread because it's got a lot of great mirror info.

Just my personal oppinion, but the west coast style mirrors give you a very bad blind spot, I prefer the 6X9 low mounts.

I have a 75 with " Low mount mirrors" stock, and a 1974 with "swing lock mirrors" after market, maby from LMC. The mirrors can be seen in my gallery. I prefer the Low mount mirrors both for the look and the actual mirror view. I would put the low mount mirrors on my 74 except it already has the holes from the original car stlye mirrors and then another set from the swing lock would ruin the trucks apperance.

has anyone ever used the peep mirrors from npd? i saw them on a dent side once and thought it looked ok. i dont really like the huge mirrors as i only drive in the summer for recreation and never tow anything. they are listed for a 67 i believe. i would definately prefer a small mirror.
