Yes, it can be done quite easily though you need to move the headlight buckets down and I think you need buckets specifically for the round headlights. 2 of the headlight bolt holes will work already, you just need to drill 2 new ones. I am doing this right now on my truck.
yes the easy way is to find a 73-77 core support and change the grill and core soport that way you get the right headlight buckets and mounting location other wise the grill suround will bolt rightup to,your fenders but youy may have some work getting the headlight buckets mounted
the conversion is just ad Ivanribic said, I used a repro 78 core support from a parts truck for my 75 and did exactly as he said, bolted two and drilled two, the rest all bolts up.
i got a 1977 grill aos the alluminum surround is painted black along with eerythign else but if someone wanted it id give it away. it is complete withthe grills and headlights and everything.
