'74 Pontiac LeMans 2-dr, 350 2-bbl (later switched to 4-bbl). Nice riding, not bad performance. Got it painted and reupholstered, replaced the transmission, then traded it when it needed valve work. One of the stupider things I've done. Too bad they don't give you "undos" when you're young and dumb.
74 red Chevy Camaro that I paid $900 for. Drove it the last two years of highschool. Never had any problems with it. Then I let my brother take it to work one night. He got runned over by a monster F350. If I wasn't so mad at the time, it would have been funny because the roof was crushed in and there were tire tracks on the roof and hood. Anyways, after that, I actually got it fixed, but it never felt the same. Sold it for $1200, and I upgraded to an 85 Mustang.
1967 AMC Ambassador 990 4 dr w/ 50k had the 343 4b, at and working AC, and sometimes working vacum wipers, paid 325 for it it got me throught high school and a couple years of college before I got tired of it and gave it to my dad. He kept it till 91 and sold it for 300 to some guy in the Rambler club from Huntington WV
I had a 1974 Buick Apollo, 250L6/350TH. Straight body, immacculate black interior, 14 x 7 western wheels, four wheel manual drum brakes. Man was that thing scary to stop at times. I had plans of installing a Buick 350 Rocket with a built up 350TH. Also wanted to install power four wheel disc brakes. Oh well. It was wrecked in a snow storm. Of all the cars I had, I wish I still had this one.
1967 VW Beetle, purchased grey-market used in 1969 from a soldier who just returned from Germany. It had a six-volt electical system and 53 horsepower.
1970 Monte Carlo in 1996, 1/2 of a 350cid in it, a beat up TH350, and awful brakes. Rebuilt her with my old man, drove it until about 2000, and garaged her. Still there, waiting for my time and money. I go out every 2 or 3 weeks and start her up, shift some gears, and put her back to bed. No insurance or registration on it, so I can't take her anywhere else but around the block.
57 Ford, Fairlane 500 bought in 1970 was my first, paid $150. No posts, powder blue & white. Not a dent or rust mark. Swapped in a 410 Interceptor from a wrecked highway patrol car, bucket seats, 4sp & posi. Great car until 73' when I was in the right place at the wrong time, 3 different times in a week. Got rear ended, front ended and the last t-bone ended her life.
Pulled off what was usable and dragged her to the shredder......sorry day that was.
'66 VW Beetle. Worst piece of junk I ever owned, sold it after 2 months. Replaced it with a REAL car- 1969 Chrysler Newport Custom 2-door. Come to think of it, I've driven nothing but trucks and big V8, RWD Detroit sedans ever since! Yeah, I've tried to get license plates that read "OLD FART," but the state won't go along....
A '63 Mercury Comet Fastback at age 15.It had the 260 2 barrel.I put a dual glaspack exhaust on it and it sounded great.I put a tach. in it and touched up the body the best I could.I got a little creative on the hood with some black wrinkle finish spray paint. It actually looked pretty sharp.Topped it off with chrome wheels and wider larger tires on the rear.I almost forgot to list the rear shackles. The good old days!
1973 Plymouth Roadrunner that started life with a 318 4bbl, 914tourquflite, 8 3/4 rearend with 3.55 gears.
I sold it 16 years and thousand's of dollar's later with a 440 30over and LOTS of other changes, 850 dominator, TCI 727TF, 8 3/4 rearend with 4.56gears.
