Oil pan

Hi, when installing a 302 engine in 1970 F-100, which oil pan do you use front or rear sump? The engine I want to use is out of car and has rear sump. I know when I did this swap with 66 comet I had to switch to front sump and drill new dipstick tube in timing cover. Any help would be great.
Thanks BB1

I think a rear slump would put the drian plug back behind the cross member, so you don't drain your oil onto the cross member. Just my.02 worth.

I bought a rear sump to replace the front one on myF-250 4x4....from what I hear the axle can bust a hole in the front sump if you go over a particularly nasty bump.
