Front sump or rear sump?

How do i tell if my oil pan is a front sump or rear sump? It is a 77 f250 with a 351m (400). The pump is in the front of the pan and there is a tube with a filter of some sort on it that goes to the rear of the pan.

If the deep part of the pan (the sump) is toward the front of the engine it's a front sump, if it's toward the back of the engine it's a rear sump.
Generally, 2wds have front sump pans while 4x4's have rear sumps.
