Another way to tell is to jack up both rear wheels, put the truck in neutral and manually turn one of the rear wheels while watching the other side. If the other wheel turns backwards, you do not have limited slip. If it turns the same way, you do.

yes all rangers have a speed limiter at 93mph from what i know on the 01-05 well the gasmilage is wourse on the 4:10's because it is a lower geer and gives you more toque and the lower the geer # the higher the geer is and will give you more top end(please correct me if im wrong) here is a post from franken truck on a nother thread showing the diff in ring and pinon size and tire size. might be helpful in understanding

Really depends on what your doing with your truck though. If your truck spends most of its time off road (or you have OD), go with higher ratio gears. If you spend most of your time on the road like me, you'll like being able to get some where without the engine screaming with slightly lower ratio gears. I usually cruise around 65-70 mph, so I'm geared accordingly. Just my humble opinion
I'm confused. My truck is a 02 Edge with the 3.0 and 4x2. It says I have axle 97 so that is a 4.10 non limited slip but 4x4 according to el conquistador. Also with that combonation I would think I could spin the tires on dry pavement and I barely get a squawk.

I need a vin decoder for the 2002 model year, because the 2000 you posted a link to gives me incorrect information such as the axle code and the VIN numbers don't match up
