There is a lot of discussion on EBP, I believe it stands for (exhaust back pressure)? MY question is, why does a turbo need back pressure? where is the EBP (unit/sender) located?
The EBP is mounted on a 'L' bracket 'just' to the right of the water outlet housing.. Standing/front of the truck.. Follow your 'top' radiator hose down towards the block/water outlet.. Look to the right of where it connects.. The EBP has a brass hex with a wire connector on top, and a pressure feed tube running to the left exhaust manifold .. You can also find it by following the EBP tube (mounted in the upper front of the drivers side exhaust manifold) topside..
The EBP is a 'variable capacitor' sensor, that the PCM supplies a 5 volt reference signal to, and it returns a linear analog voltage signal that indicates a exhaust pressure.. The sensor feedback signal then is used for turbo and EGR control/position..
