4x2 & 4x4 ????
sorry for another 400 to 460 question. everything searched seems to be for the 4wheel trucks and broncos. Landlproducts swap kit was not in my budget. and there kit was for 4whl trucks. did not see any 2whl swap kits.
is there any differences in two wheel drive swap? almost got the 460 in but found out need new engine towers. the guy i bought the motor from is going to sell me all the parts i need from his 77 f 250 4X4. he also went from 400 to 460.
I have a 77 f 250 2whl Camper Special that the 460 is going into. I have already changed to a 460 flex plate and using the 400 converter. he has the power steering brackets, alternator brackets, engine towers that was fabricated, and radiator all for $50.00. He had the 460 in his truck, so i assume if i can get everything from his truck i should be fine.
the 460 was originally in a 70's full size car, he was not sure what car possibly a torino.

wrong engine towers
went and got all the accessories i need but found out he had the frame crossmember that is towards the front of the truck. Mine is directly over the axle. does any know what i need in regards to the towers. read that 390 engine mounts will work if turned at an angle. Can i use the towers off of another truck w/ the same crossmember over the axle. found some towers that would move the engine forward appox. and inch. is there a height difference w/ these other towers.

i believe the 460's came in the 2whl only. not sure though. i was wondering if the 360 engine towers will work. they sit at an angle towards the front of the truck or is their some height difference. don't really know what to do.
It kinda seemed weird i wasn't finding the right stuff i needed.

There was never a factory 4x4 that had a 460 until 83.
yjc66 - a 4.2 would be the easiest, you can get chips and exhaust to make more power.
