With any cam, new used or hand me down, check it on a lathe or V blocks with a dial indicator as 99% of the time they will not be true or straight. With a rounded chisel and hammer you can straighen 'em. This is even from Crame NIB without damage, check 'em and your cam bearings will be happy.

sad day in my little Ford world. My wife trashed her 02 Mustang tonight. I had just got off work and we went to her grandparents house to swim. About 8:30pm we leave and got about a mile and i saw this deer run out of the woods and BAM smack into the front of her car. messed it up pretty bad hood, fenders, inner fenders, just everything up there. I have just got home. Now i can talk her into driving my 69 F-100 iron block on 4 wheel so next time she can run that SOB on over and keep right on going.
I get my block and heads back tomorrow so maybe the cam will get here tomorrow and i can start getting it back together friday night. and have it runnig soon.
thanks to all of you FTE rs out there for all of your help. trust my i have many more questions to ask. so stick around for the fun i get into
i got it set to the side ASAP. I got asked the question last night and i quote "How much money are you spending on this motor?"
Since I don't know your wife, I don't know if it will help, but try putting the cost on a scale comparative to car payments, with no depreciation. Keep a mental checklist of EVERY benefit the truck provides, right down to "it's time/money I won't spend at the bar".

Good luck, Mike
or, as my aunt once said when she saw my shop "At least it's not a red-headed girlfriend" :-)

That's pretty rich. My wife has finally come around to your aunt's line of thinking: I had a car with a bad head gasket given to me, she pitched a fit over my $200 estimate to put it back on the street. I challenged her to get a few shop estimates: end of fit.
One time she complained about me spending "half the day" with her car and she can't tell any difference. Uh, that's a good thing honey; starts every time, decent mileage, no breaking down.
Any more she just asks how "the other woman" is doing. After a day of getting dirty, it's a welcome clue for me to knock off and relax.
I have to keep this gal!
Sorry to hear about the 'Stang Brandon. Hope she doesn't start liking the truck too much. You might have to buy a Bronco or something to entice her out.
Hey B sorry to hear about the wifes stang. Hope she is ok. Maybe she will want a NEW one. You also get bonus points for more parts if that happens. Well at least thats how it works here. Speaking of red heads my daughter has flaming red hair....and a temper to match. OMG! G.
If it doesn't work, PM me and I'll do my best to help. That page has just about every bit of info on any measurement you might need for the FE series. Good luck!
