paint

im putin together a 69 f100 4x4 to give to my bro for a wedin preseant and need to know what the mint green paint was called back then or mabe even a code i can take to the paint store so i can get the rite mint green hopfuly some one can help me with this thanks

Probaly called Mint Green . Check www.autocolorlibrary.com and you can probably match it up.

I went on bumpsides and they had a paint chip chart for my 69 that I was able to print out.

If the original driver door is on the truck,and the VIN plate is there, you should find a paint color code.

On your VIN data plate you should have a color code. Here are the greens for 69:

L - Holly Green
N - Norway Green
P - Boxwood Green Metallic
R - Diamond Green
U - Lunar Green
Y - Reef Aqua

I would guess that whoever is gonna paint it or whoever you're buying paint from would be able to match it if you just give them the paint code.

thats just it i dont have the origanal tag from the door and this things about 6 different colors now and i got about a month to get it done hmm mabe i should start a reality tv show lol i spose that holly green would most likly to be the mint green im thinkin of

Lunar green is what mine was originaly. It is a lighter shade than the old Sears Service Truck green. Almost like the Aqua color used that year only green.

The VIN is also on the frame. It should be the original VIN and I believe it is on the passenger side frame arm right below the alternator. I could be wrong, but that's where it is on my 70.
