Vacuum question

I have a 88 with a 302 that has had all the vacuum connections plugged off coming from the solenoids, EGR etc. I think that I have them all connected correctly but have 1 that I cannot find a home for. It is the pink line coming off one of the air solenoids. I can't find a decent diagram can anyone help. I am also woking through issues with the mazda 5 speed trans and I'm sure will have questions on that also. Thanks again for any help.

The pink line runs to one side of the diverter valve behind the passenger (right) cylinder head. There should also be a red line running to the only other vacuum port on the diverter valve.

Thanks grey. The valve that I think you're talking about has a yellow line going to it and I didn't see another port for a second but will take a closer look. The yellow line is coming off the other air solenoid so it seems that these lines may have been jacked around any way, like I said this thing was plugged off everywhere. Any other info you could give me would be appreciated. I am a long time ford owner but never knew of this site till I found it by way of google.

Hmmm, pardon my memory... you are right about the other line being yellow. I just checked it against my own truck. Nice thing is, Ford managed to keep most of the vacuum line colors standard throughout the model years. My 93's are the same colors as your 88's as far as I can tell. Was it just vacuum plumbing that was disconnected/plugged or was the entire Thermactor/Air Injection system disconnected?

Just the vacuum, but the EGR was also removed. I have put the EGR on and need to replace the hose that runs from the EGR to the exhaust manifold. All the vacuum lines were connected to the solenoids but were plugged at the other end with screws. I think the green line is for the EGR but am not sure of the balance. It does run better with the lines connected as opposed to not.

The green line IS the EGR vacuum supply.

Yeah, once that EGR vacuum is working and the EEC computer is getting an accurate reading from the EVP sensor (on top of the EGR valve) you will see a marked inprovement especially at idle and on cold starts.

When you replaced the EGR was there a seal you had to replace, sealant or just surface to surface?
